Carla Lester and her daughter Lauren Dena -based on a unique idea for a new style of family magazine -founded AmeriKidz in 2003.
Carla,
a veteran of more than 25 years in the parenting publications business,
had decided that parents would appreciate a small DIGEST SIZE family magazine that was easy to use, beautifully designed and full of useful information -at-a-glance - on parenting and community activities.
Advertisers, on the other hand, would appreciate a magazine that was at least in part, direct mailed to a highly targeted audience –by neighborhood- of parents living in communities close to their business locations. The combination worked.
Today,
AmeriKidz magazines are distributed quarterly to 400,000 new moms and
parents with children under the age of 15, 50% by neighborhood zip
codes, and the magazines are full of useful information for parents.
More
importantly, advertisers are renewing their contracts every quarter,
new advertisers are signing on everyday and parents are responding in
surprising numbers to readership surveys, contests and other key
indicators of the magazine’s success in the marketplace.
AmeriKidz
has three publications, two in Orange County, CA and one in Oklahoma
City. We are now expanding to cities throughout the United States as a
turnkey licensing program for sales professionals seeking an exciting
home based business.
