From
Earth Day to the end of the school year, parents, teachers and kids can
recycle empty glue bottles and glue sticks at your local Wal-Mart
through a cool program from Elmer’s. Last year, the Elmer’s Glue Crew
Recycling Program saved 2 million glue bottles and sticks from going to
a landfill. Here’s the scoop: -
Anyone can participate, simply box up your empty glue bottles and glue
sticks and take them to Wal-Mart or send them to TerraCycle, which uses
the materials to create new items like backpacks and binders. -
Better yet, talk to your child’s teacher about getting involved in
recycling. It can save money for your school while teaching children a
valuable lesson. -
The Elmer’s Glue Crew Recycling Program is designed to educate children
about environmental stewardship through school activities such as
lesson plans, contests, essays and arts/crafts projects. -
Since the beginning of the school year, classrooms nationwide have been
collecting empty glue bottles and glue sticks to be recycled through
the program. Last year, Glue Crew participation reached 1.2 million
school-age children, more than 16,000 teachers and 83,000 classrooms. You can check it out at www.elmersgluecrew.com. The program is a fun and simple way parents and kids can make one small change to save the planet. Happy Earth Day!
